BBC News is giving the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition lots of publicity lately. First it posted Jemma Phipps' new portrait of The Duke of Edinburgh I posted recently (
CLICK). Now it has posted a slide show of previously unseen preparatory sketches of The Queen that will be displayed in the exhibition at Mall Galleries, which opens tomorrow (

Michael Noakes. It's better than many a finished portrait.
